

Lauren Wesley Erickson was born on October 24, 1924, to Carl and Venus Erickson in Haxtun, Colorado. He married Carol Potts on January 20, 1950. Lauren grew up helping on the farm. Lauren spent one year at Colorado University then enlisted in the Navy during WWII.
Lauren met Carol while stationed in Oklahoma for a short time. After the war ended he turned down an offer to remain in Japan for further duty. He then completed his engineering degree at CU and married Carol after graduation. Lauren worked in Houston then moved back to Colorado and worked for Glenn L. Martin Company.
Lauren also worked for Avco where he worked on the titan & atlas missile program. With Avco Lauren worked in Colorado, Connecticut and California. Lauren & Carol enjoyed their time in Santa Maria while he worked at Vandenberg Air Force Base on several missile projects. Lauren and Carol moved back to Colorado Springs in the late 60's where he had his own construction company until he retired in 1990.
Lauren battled a hip replacement for the past three years. He lost his wife of 62 years, Carol, in January of 2012.
Lauren is preceded in death by his parents and three sisters, Della Jean, Gwen, and Maxine.
Lauren is survived by many loving nieces, nephews, and grand nieces and nephews.
A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, June 21st, 2014 at 2:00pm at Chapel of Memories Funeral Home.
