LaVonne Rose Kleinschmidt, 84, lifelong of Colorado Springs, passed away on July 16, 2011. LaVonne was born on November 24, 1926 to the late LaVern and Stella (Surber) Ellis. After graduating high school, LaVonne attended Blair Business College. She married W. LaVerne “Joe” Kleinschmidt on September 12, 1946 in Colorado Springs.
LaVonne worked for El Paso County before taking over the bookkeeping responsibilities for Joe’s construction business. Following their retirement in 1981, LaVonne and Joe traveled the world and resided in the home they built in 1951.
LaVonne is survived by her beloved husband, W. LaVerne Joe; son, Larry (Patty) of Laguna Niguel, California; daughter, Linda (Paul) of Salida, Colorado; granddaughters, Katie (Brian), Trisha; great granddaughter, Chloe and brother-in-law, Paul Kleinschmidt.
