LeRoy Peterson

LeRoy Peterson was born May 30th, 1930, to James and Clara Hansen Peterson, in Oshkosh, Wisconsin. He had 3 siblings Josephine Wrage, Herman Peterson and Clayton Peterson. He graduated from Wild Rose High School. He lived in Pine River, Wisconsin. He had a motorcycle and an airplane, and embarked on a life long career as a truck driver. He married Joan Lindvig Peterson, August 28, 1961. They met and married at the Genoa City Bible Church. They moved to Orlando Florida in 1971. They were blessed with four children. Jeffrey L Peterson (Londa), Barry C Peterson (Jody), Rebecca L Wade (Sharrick), James H Peterson (Lorinda), 7 grandchildren Jason (Stephany), Whitney (Kyle), Morgan (Louis), Claire, Molly, Summer and Cherish, And 8 great-grandchildren, Jacob, Zoey, Abigail, Logan, Lorelai, Jonah, Ivan and Beau. His family brought him great joy!

In his retirement he enjoyed repairing and restoring small engines and lawn equipment. He and Joan moved to Colorado Springs in 2016. He was a faithful member of Front Range Alliance Church, and participated in the launch of the East Campus, Now Rooted Church. Leroy enjoyed participating in Church and small group meetings, singing hymns and studying the Lord’s word.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his sister Josephine, his brother Herman and his son Barry.

A visitation for LeRoy will be held Friday, April 15, 2022 from 1:30 PM to 2:30 PM at Mountain View Mortuary, 2350 Montebello Square Drive, Colorado Springs, CO 80918. Following the visitation will be a graveside service from 3:00 PM to 3:30 PM at Memorial Gardens Cemetery & Funeral Home, 3825 Airport Road, Colorado Springs, CO 80910.

LeRoy will be laid to rest in Memorial Gardens Cemetery, 3825 Airport Rd., Colorado Springs, Co 80910.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in LeRoy's memory may be made to The Christian and Missionary Alliance Great Commission Fund; and Samaritan's Purse.
