Linda Mary (Sale) Mogel, passed away peacefully in Colorado Springs at the age of 77. Born on April 10, 1948, in Sacramento, California, she was the devoted daughter of Marvin E. Sale and Juanita (Berry) Sale. Linda displayed warmth and acceptance, traits that would guide her throughout a life rich in service, family, and friendship.
After earning her Bachelor’s degree in Education from The University of the Pacific, Linda balanced professional achievement with heartfelt community engagement. She began her career as a loan officer at Wells Fargo. Later, she devoted herself to nurturing her own family as a stay-at-home mom, then managed the books at Pikes Peak Christian School. Ultimately, she returned to Wells Fargo Home Equity, where, as a supervisor, she led her team with integrity, compassion, and unwavering encouragement.
Linda’s generosity extended far beyond her workplace. She volunteered in her daughters’ elementary classrooms, lent her leadership to the cadet ministry, and devoted time to Fostering Hope among many other charitable causes. Wherever there was a need—a classroom to be organized, a young person to mentor, or a community event to support—Linda was there.
Her love story with Jake began with a blind date that instantly became legend. When the real Jake arrived, Linda—sure she was meeting his roommate—greeted him with a friendly, “You’re not Jake.” Surprised and amused, Jake smiled and said, “I am!” Thankfully, that mix-up became the first of many hilarious stories throughout their life together.
A natural storyteller, Linda delighted in sharing tales of her past adventures. She found simple joy in crossword puzzles, Sudoku, coloring, and appliqué, and each fall she reveled in pumpkins and gourds. Christmas was her favorite season—she cherished the glow of twinkling lights, the sparkle of ornaments, and the comforting warmth of Glühwein.
Linda’s legacy lives on through her husband, Jacob Alvin Mogel; her daughters, Kimberly Goodman (Phillip Goodman) and Christine Meysembourg (Barrett Meysembourg); and her grandchildren, Thomas Paulson, Emma Meysembourg, Abigail Meysembourg, and Lily Meysembourg. She was preceded in death by her parents, Marvin and Juanita Sale; her in-laws, Alvin and Dorothy Mogel; and many dear relatives and friends.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, July 26, 2025 at 2:00 pm at Eastside Church of Christ, 5905 Flintridge Drive, Colorado Springs, CO, 80918.
