Lora Ruybal

She was born in Antonito, Colorado to Roberto Lujan and Genevieve de Herrera on October 26th, 1926.

She was the devoted wife to Augustin Ruybal Jr. and was the loving mother to Louis, Sylvia, Roxanne, and Leonard. She was grandmother to Adam Smith (Katie) and Russell Smith. She was great grandmother to Xavier Medina and Zoe and Parker Smith. She was preceded in death by her husband Gus and sisters Emily, Marvine, Ida and Ella, and brother Roberto. She is survived by her sister-in-law Margie and several nieces and nephews across the country.

Lora found much joy with all her family while camping and fishing and at family picnic reunions. All enjoyed her homemade biscuits, tortillas, cookies, and chili! Especially during the holidays! She especially thrived with her husband Gus in their place in Cañon City, — growing flowers and vegetables and quilt making and keeping things green and clean; she loved to water with the hose!

She will be forever missed and loved. Via con Dios, Mom!

A Visitation and Rosary will be held at Swan-Law Funeral Directors, located at 501 North Cascade Avenue, Colorado Springs, CO 80903, on February 19, 2026, from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm.

A Funeral Mass will take place at St Dominic Catholic Church, 5354 US-85, Colorado Springs, CO 80911, on February 20, 2026, from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm.

The Graveside service will be held at Evergreen Cemetery, 1005 Hancock Expy, Colorado Springs, CO 80903, on February 20, 2026, from 12:00 pm to 12:30 pm.
