

Wayne was born in Price, Utah to Glen and Ethel Anderson on January 12, 1951. He received his bachelor’s degree in political science from the University of Utah and his Juris Doctor degree from the College of Law at the University of Utah.
He married Kaye Petersen on August 30, 1975, in Ferron, Utah. They were blessed with 4 children, 6 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Wayne served 20 years in the Judge Advocate General Corp of the United States Army and retired as a Lieutenant Colonel. After retiring from the Army, he opened a private practice in Colorado Springs where he served the community for 20 years.
He loved to hunt, fish, and work in his yard and garden. He will be remembered for his honesty and integrity, his intellect, and his love for the outdoors. Wayne also had an affinity for storytelling and a cynical sense of humor that live on through his children. Memories of him are punctuated by music as he was often whistling, singing a tune, or playing his favorite albums on repeat.
Wayne is preceded in death by his parents Glen and Ethel, his brother Bob and his sisters Elaine and Marie.
Funeral services will be held at Pikes Peak National Cemetery, 10545 Drennan Road, Colorado Springs, CO 80925 at 3:00 p.m. on November 7, 2025, followed by a Celebration of Life at 5:00 p.m. at Phantom Canyon Brewery, 2 East Pikes Peak Avenue, Colorado Springs, CO 80903
