Luz Alinsunurin Lawler was born in the Philippines in Makati, Rizal on May 25, 1956 to Alipio and Encarnacion Alinsunurin. She was the eighth of nine children. She graduated from the Perpetual College of Nursing with a degree in Nursing. Together with her brother Rafael, she traveled abroad to Germany where she worked as a nurse for 5 years. It was here she met her future husband SFC Roland B. Lawler, a soldier in the US Army. They were married on May 12, 1987 in the locale congregation of Frankfurt. They settled down in the city of Colorado Springs to raise their two sons, Christopher and Adam. She is survived by her husband, her two children, and one grandson (Nolan).
She has been an active and dedicated member of the Iglesia Ni Cristo (Church of Christ) for her entire life and has remained faithful—to her duties and to our Lord God—until the end.
