

L. Joseph (“Joe”) Albright, 69, passed away Saturday, October 22, 2022 at his home in Colorado Springs, Colorado. He was born on January 30, 1953 to the late Spruce W. and Beatrice M. (Myers) Albright in York, Pennsylvania. He was the youngest of three sons.
Joe graduated from York Suburban High School in 1970 and enlisted in the United States Navy in October 1971. On May 22, 1976 Joe married Patricia A. Flaherty in Havertown, Pennsylvania and they had two children. In 1981, he received an honorable discharge from the Navy as Cryptologic Technician Second Class Petty Officer. During his time in service, he was awarded two Good Conduct Medals, a National Defense Service Medal, and Expert Medal for Navy Marksmanship – Pistol. In 1985 Joe and his family moved to Colorado Springs where he remained until his passing.
Joe loved seeing Pikes Peak from his front porch and feeding hummingbirds as they migrated through the area. While unable to work professionally during the latter part of his life due to injury related disabilities, he enjoyed spending his time helping and supporting his neighbors and community.
Joe was preceded in death by both of his parents, his oldest brother, Ross Robert Albright, and nephew, Jason R. Albright.
He is survived by his son Michael J. and wife Oriah (Harding) Albright and their three sons of Melissa, Texas; his daughter Kelly E. Albright of Garland, Texas; his brother Jeffrey H. and wife Beatrice E. (Kavanagh) Albright of Albuquerque, New Mexico; his niece Ashby Albright and husband Will Sly of Albuquerque, New Mexico; his nephew Robert J. and wife Betty (Stephenson) Albright and their two sons of Rio Rancho, New Mexico; and his nephew Jeremy R. Albright of Lansdale, Pennsylvania.
Joe will be laid to rest at Shrine of Remembrance in Colorado Springs, Colorado.
