Maggie Rose Kiley, age 19, passed away on January 14, 2025, in Breckenridge, Colorado. Maggie was born on October 22, 2005, in Worcester, Massachusetts to Drs. Susan and Bob Kiley. She was welcomed by her older sister, Bella Kiley. Maggie and her family moved to Colorado when she was 10 months old.
Maggie was a force to be reckoned with her whole life. She loved life, and as a child was always dancing, doing handstands, laughing, bringing joy, and she loved a good snuggle. She traveled often with her family and saw much of the world in her shortened life. In particular, she loved the beach and the mountains. At age 8, Maggie was diagnosed with epilepsy. She showed a courage and strength well beyond her years, and never let her disease stand in her way. She continued to pursue academics and sports, including swimming, a passion until she passed away. She graduated Lewis Palmer High School in 2022, and was attending UCCS, majoring in Criminal Justice.
Maggie is survived by her parents, Susan and Bob Kiley, her stepmother, Monica Kiley, and her older sister, Bella. Throughout her life, Bella was by her side as her best friend and her greatest protector. Susan and Bob will cherish Maggie’s memory forever, having been blessed to know her strength and courage, her sassiness and feist, her love for life, and her great ability to love.
Maggie is also survived by her grandmother, Janet Kiley, and her grandfather, Richard Lary; her aunts and uncles Melanie and Dave Oliver, Mary and Dean Kiley, Michele and Dan Kiley, Karen Kiley, and Dale Kiley. Her cousins Ryan and Sara Oliver; Chris Kiley, Courtney Gibson (Kiley); Megan (Steele), Sadie, Sophie and Joe Kiley; Mackenzie, Emma, and Ava Kiley. She is survived by many other loving family members. Her parents would like to particularly recognize Steven Brazitis, a second cousin who recently moved to Colorado. She was predeceased by her grandfather, Bob Kiley, her grandmother, Ellen Lary, and her grandfather, Arthur Oliver.
Maggie is also survived by her boyfriend, Jake Trutwin. She was blessed to fall in love in her short life and had many dreams to build a life and family with Jake.
There will be a service to honor Maggie Rose on February 3, 2025 at 11 am, at Swan-Law Funeral Home, 501 N. Cascade Ave, Colorado Springs, Colorado, 80903. A celebration of her life will follow at Flying Horse Country Club.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Epilepsy Foundation of Colorado and Wyoming in Maggie’s memory.
