Marie P. Penn

January 9, 1929 - April 1, 2011

Marie Penn, 82, left this world to be with her Lord and Savior on Fri., April 1, 2011 at her home in Colorado Springs, CO with her family by her side. She was a resident of Colorado Springs for nearly 50 years. She was born January 9, 1929 in Deemer, MS to Willie Bob and Ellen Pace. Coming to the Pikes Peak region in 1957, she married James L. Penn on March 6, 1970.

Survivors include daughters, Shirley (Bill) and Judy (Chuck); son, Patrick; son-in-law, Bret (Cheryl); grandchildren, Jackie; William; Christopher; Kathleen; Jeremiah; Jessica; Nicholas; Brandon; great-grandchildren Rayshel; Sydney; Amoura; True. Also surviving are sisters, Maude (Jesse) Dickinson and Betty Scott; a brother, Eugene (Bonnie); numerous nieces and nephews, and her dear friend, D. Miller and his family.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Willie Bob and Ellen Pace; her husband James L. Penn; her daughter, Patricia DeSpain, a sister, Virginia Gibbs and a brother, Herbert Pace.

She loved entertaining family and friends. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Visitation will be at Memorial Gardens Cemetery and Funeral Home, 3825 Airport Road this Wed., April 6, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. A memorial service is planned Thurs., April 7 at 11 a.m. at Divine Redeemer Catholic Church, 927 N. Logan. Interment will follow at Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
