Mary Ruth Best

Mary Ruth Bold Best, age 101, of Colorado Springs, CO passed away on Saturday, January 31,2026.

Mary was born 26 February 1924 in Allentown, PA to Gustave John Bold and Maria Minnie Lauf. Mary had three older sisters - Theresa, Margaret, and Bertha. Mary married Warren Eugene Best of Neffs, PA, December 7, 1943, who ironically was the youngest of four sons.

Having been a B-17 Navigator in Europe during WWII, Warren was called back to Service, after his graduation from Lehigh University. Mary became an Air Force wife. After 36 years in the Air Force and traveling around the world, they moved to Fullerton, CA. Mary moved to Colorado Springs, CO after Warren’s death in 1998.

Mary is survived by her daughter, Bonnie L. Bagley; sons Joel E. Best and Randall S. Best; Grandchildren Dawn Bagley Neeley, Keith Best, Brian Best, Elizabeth Best Smith, Scott Best, Sean Best, Nick Best and Tori Best; and Great-grandchildren Vanessa Neeley, Victoria Neeley, Kaylee Best, Jacob Best, Joseph Best, Jack Best, Amelia Best, Savannah Smith, and Georgia Smith.

Mary is preceded in passing by her parents and sisters; her beloved husband Warren; their sons Robert Alan Best and Warren Eugene Best, Jr; and their grandson Larry Glen Bagley.

A graveside service will be held at the Union Church cemetery in Schnecksville, PA at later date.
