Mary Ann Vigil

Mary Ann Vigil was born March 30, 1939 in Delcarbon, Colorado to the union of Emma (King) and Seledon Gomez Sr. She married Jerry Vigil on December 31, 1960. Born to this union are Eric, Jerriann, Sylvia, Darrell, and Clyde.

Mary Ann was the 4th of nine siblings; Seledon Jr., Carmelita, Clorinda, Gilbert, Leroy, Marie, Dorothy, and Delores. She attended Delcarbon School until 7th grade, then was bused to Walsenburg, where she graduated from Huerfano County High School in 1957.

She attended TSJS and graduated with an AA degree in early childhood education. She then attended ASC (now ASU), graduationg Cum Laude with a BA degree in elementary education. She continued her schooling, receiving her MA in elementary education. Mary Ann taught at the Walsenburg Middle School, and retired after 25 years of service.

She is survived by her five children, 12 grandchildren, and many great grandchildren. She is loved, and will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
