Noah Joseph (Joe) Wehlage was born on August 12th, 1996 in Girard Kansas. He was sent from God to Fred & Cindy, Noah’s mom and dad, and his big brother, Drew, to complete our family. We chose the right name for him as it didn’t take long to understand his love and passion for animals. Noah was a kind & loving young man. His family and friends were so very important to him, although he didn’t always show it.
Even at an early age he was an amazing artist. He loved all kinds of art and especially graphic art. He could see the beauty of architecture and design in the buildings around him. In high school he won awards in which he always said… “I don’t care what people think of my art, it’s mine, people like it or they don’t”. Of course everyone loved it. He loved to do advertising for small businesses and organizations in the area.
Noah’s biggest love on this earth was nature. He loved trees, animals and everything that the great outdoors offered. Hiking was probably his very favorite hobby. If you have ever hiked with Noah you know how hard it was to keep up with him. He had to describe in tremendous detail all the different plants, trees, animals, boulders and stars. He loved to sit out in the back of his house for hours looking at the stars or bugs and text his friends.
Noah wanted to save the world, he was truly dedicated to solving the world’s inequities and injustices. He loved everyone for who they truly were without judgement.
Noah will be dearly missed by so many caring and loving family and friends. He chose to leave this world on March 18th, 2014. Now he is with God, grandparents, cousins, and friends who have preceded him.
A celebration of Noah’s life will be held on Tuesday, March 25th , 2:00 p.m. at Shove Chapel on the Colorado College Campus. Please dress as you desire in bright happy colors to honor Noah’s amazing art and creativity.
