Pat was born February 12, 1933 in New Lexington, Ohio to Frank and Margaret Snyder, the youngest of 5 children.
A former Sisters of St Francis nun, Pat was a lifelong educator in elementary and nursing education. After leaving the order in the early 60's, she went to work for the Veteran's Administration as a Perioperative Nurse and educator. In 1971, Pat joined the USAF with assignments to Scott AFB, IL, Hahn AFB, Germany and lastly to USAF Academy, Colorado Springs, CO. It was there that she met and married Norman Barnett on April 4, 1977 during a typical Colorado blizzard.
Pat was preceded in death by her parents, brother Albert and sisters Wanda, Delores and Helen. She is survived by her husband, Norman, children Barbara Hisgen, Janice Salsman (Alan), Jerry Barnett (Carol), Vencil Barnett and Robert Montani (Sandy); nieces Patricia Wyant (Doug) and Margaret Covault (Dale Terry). Loving grandmother to Jerad Barnett (Christina) and Tara (Barnett) Fagyas (Eric), several great nieces, nephews and great grandchildren.
Pat loved music, knitting and writing personal notes of thanks and hello. She was a true believer in the importance of a handwritten note.
A visitation for Pat will be held Thursday, January 20, 2022 from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM at Mountain View Mortuary, 2350 Montebello Square Drive, Colorado Springs, CO 80918, followed by a funeral service from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM. A second service will be held at a later date in New Lexington, Ohio.
