Patricia Ann Kent

Patricia was born November 27, 1944, in El Paso, Texas to Louis and Dorothy Selders, Pat was the second child, older brother Jimmy Don and younger brother Robert. Her younger years were spent in Texas, California and Japan. She graduated from High School while in Japan in 1962.

Pat married James Kent in 1963. They lived in Miami, Florida for several years, later ending up in Colorado Springs in 1972 with her two sons. She lived in Fountain, Colorado for over 47 years.

Pat went to Secretarial School, where upon passing, she accepted a job as administrative assistant at the Deaf and Blind School. She enjoyed working there for 30+ years. Upon retirement she gardened, played bingo and took care of her mother who had Alzheimer’s.

Pat was a loving, caring, single mother, who took on the challenges of raising two boys on her own which was no small task. She was a fierce defender of women’s rights and democracy.

Pat is survived by her sons Alan Kent of Colorado Springs, David Kent of Tucson, Arizona. Grandchildren Wyatt Kent and Phoenix Dilaura.

She is preceded in death by her Mother Dorothy and Father Louis. Brothers Jimmy Don and Robert.

No Services will be held; a celebration of life will be held a later time.

In lieu of flowers, the family wishes for donations to be made to the Alzheimer’s Association or the Cancer Association on Pat’s behalf.
