

Robert Burns Foster passed away peacefully on June 5, 2025 at the age of 89. He was born on September 15, 1935 to Edward Burns and Lydia (Wood) Foster. He married Doris Gwendolyn Bethea in Charleston, South Carolina on November 4, 1961.
A native of Colorado Springs, Bob attended Colorado Springs High School (now Palmer High School) where he was actively involved in baseball and basketball. He enjoyed participating in his high school reunions and remembering happy times at Palmer.
He graduated from CU Boulder majoring in Mechanical Engineering and Business. He additionally received a Master’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering from Georgia Tech. Bob served in the U. S. Navy and was employed as Head of the Mechanical Branch, Southern Division, Naval Facilities Engineering Command in Charleston, South Carolina.
Bob's family remembers him for his humor, generosity, and unwavering support. While in Charleston, Bob was an avid golfer. He also enjoyed running and lunchtime games of bridge with coworker friends. After retirement he moved back to his beloved Colorado Springs. There Bob became involved with line dancing and looked forward to nightly spades games with family. He also realized a passion for genealogy. There was nothing he loved more than discovering new family lines and helping friends learn more about their own family tree.
Surviving are his four children: Linda (Tony) Pinto, Charleston, SC; Janet (Mike) Vila, Metairie, LA; Kim (Cameron) Crosby, La Cañada, CA; and Kyle (Lisa) Foster, Richardson, TX.; eight grandchildren: Christa (Alan) Price and Andrew Pinto; Leigh Vila; Shae (Grayson) Bowman and Blake Crosby; Alex (Natalie), Jackson, and Devin Foster; and four great grandchildren.
