Robert Frey passed away Wednesday evening at Union Printers Home. He is survived by his wife Patty Jeanne Frey, Three children, Sheryl Deutsch (David), Carter Frey (Linda) and Dean Frey, and seven grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
He was born at Glenvil, Nebraska on April 10, 1923 to Elmer and Edith Frey. After basic training he volunteered for a very special mission somewhere in the jungle in southeast Asia. This secret mission turned out to be Merrill’s Marauders and Mars Task Force. He was a scout with intelligence and reconnaissance and was awarded the Bronze Star.
On July 15, 1945 he and Patty Jeanne Hinrichs were united in holy wedlock. One brother and three sisters preceded him in death. One sister resides in Springfield MO.
He worked for over 30 years as a Fire Fighter at the Air Force Academy. After retirement he became very active in carpentry and wood working. He was actively involved in sharing his skills with many in the community.
Contributions may be made to Pikes Peak Hospice or the Gideon’s International for purchasing bibles to be given away.
Services will be held Monday June 6 at 11:00 a.m. at Heritage Baptist Church.
