Bob was born on June 27, 1943, in Chanute, Kansas, to Lorna Mae Stiles and Leon Ward Stiles. Growing up in a military family, he traveled the world and developed a lifelong curiosity. He served proudly in the United States Marine Corps and later graduated from the University of Colorado Boulder.
In 1980, Bob married the love of his life, Roxanne, and together they recently celebrated 46 years of marriage.
Known for his sharp intellect, Bob was an avid reader, a classic rock fan, and a long‑distance runner. He worked as an electrical engineer in Colorado and Texas.
Bob was cherished by a large and loving family. He will be remembered for his brilliance, his devotion to those he loved, and the humor and warmth he brought into every room.
He is survived by his daughters, Samantha Youngblood (David) and Andrea Stiles (Joseph Dimas); and by his two sweet granddaughters, Valentine and Cecilia. Additional survivors include his aunt, Neva Wortman; his sister, Marlene Dickmeyer (Mike); numerous brothers‑in‑law and sisters‑in‑law; cousins; nieces and nephews; and many dear friends. He will be deeply missed.
Services and a celebration of Bob’s life will be announced by the family at a later date.
In Bob’s memory, the family suggests donations to Abode Hospice of Colorado or to organizations supporting Lewy Body Dementia research and care.
