

Rodney Duane Perry, surrounded by family, passed away in the early hours of the morning on Friday March 22.
He was born in Fitchburg, Massachusetts on July 28th, 1933. Rodney grew up in Jaffrey, New Hampshire. From early childhood his father taught him the joy of being an avid outdoorsman and he enjoyed a lifetime passion of hunting and fishing. Rodney joined the United States Air Force in 1951. His career in the USAF deployed him around the world from Germany to Japan including Korea and Vietnam.
He married his wife, Evelyn, in 1957 and they were quickly off to Germany to continue serving in the USAF. They had five children throughout their married years. As the patriarch of the family, he instilled the importance of strong values to his children which has resonated to all of his grandchildren.
Rodney finished his career with the USAF after 26 years of service at the rank of CMSGT. His last assignment was with the USAF Inspector General's Team in Colorado Springs.
After his retirement from the USAF he started his second career in the automotive business, in Colorado Springs, and retired again after many years in the business. Upon his second retirement he devoted more time to his outdoor activities. He often could be found on the shores of a mountain lake fishing with his wife Evelyn.
He is preceded in death by his father Dana; mother Dorothy; sister Nancy Ellen; his wife Evelyn, and granddaughter Jessica Perry. He leaves behind his brother David Perry of Louisiana, and his five children Stephen Perry and his wife Susan, Nancy Glass, Tad Perry, Paige Birkner and her husband Doug and Keith Perry. Rodney enjoyed his many grandchildren; Audrea Bogart, Ryan Perry, Copper Perry, Matt Perry, Paige Longanecker, Amanda Perry, Vicky Perry, and Steele Perry; his great grandchildren, Ethan, Breck, Madalynn, Dylan Bogart, and Shayln Esquibel. He will be greatly missed by all his family and friends.
A Visitation will be held on Monday, March 25, 2013 at Swan-Law Funeral Directors, 501 North Cascade Ave. Colorado Springs from 5:30-7:30pm. Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, March 26, 2013 at Ascension Lutheran Church, 2505 N. Circle Drive, Colorado Springs, at 10:00am. Burial will take place at Evergreen Cemetery following the service with full Military Honors.
