Colonel Roscoe Edward Crowder, USAF (Retired), of Palmer Lake, passed away on February 10, 2021, at the age of 89. Ed was born September 23, 1931 in Sturgeon, Missouri to J. Walter and V. Ruth (Level) Crowder. He graduated in 1949 from Mexico High School, Mexico, Missouri.
He joined the military in 1951. His Air Force career with the B-36 and B-52 took him around the world including: South East Asia, North Africa, Europe, Mississippi, and Nebraska. He was awarded the Legion of Merit and Distinguished Flying Cross. He retired in 1976.
Ed was united in marriage to Leanna Reincke March 28, 1954 in Charter Oak, Iowa. In 1976 Ed and Lea moved their family to Monument, Colorado. There they were founding members of Trinity Lutheran Church.
Ed enjoyed family time, especially family meals. He played cribbage with friends. His woodworking skills are well known. During quiet time, he liked to read, watch John Wayne movies, and put puzzles together.
Ed is survived by: son Warren (Tracy) Crowder, daughter Marva (John) Panos, grand children; Matthew Panos, Victoria Crowder, and Nicholas Crowder; and brother Melvin Crowder.
He will rest next to Lea at the Pikes Peak National Cemetery.
