

Rose Marie Eggum of Colorado Springs died on October 24, 2025, at the age of 84, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on Sept 1st, 1941, Rose always said she was born in a shack by the railroad tracks on her grandfather’s farm near Jerome, ID, to Arlo Klinger Dille and Olive Josephine (Stene) Dille.
Rose was predeceased by her parents and grandparents. She is survived by her loving husband of 62 years, Robert Lynn Eggum, Son Robert Lynn Eggum Jr, Daughter Roxanne Marie (Eggum) Kocher(Phil), Brother Lyle A Dille, Grandson Sean Davidson, Granddaughter Kelsey Davidson, Granddaughter Ashton Byar(Robby), Grandson Colton Davidson(Bri), Grandson Callan Kocher, and four Great great grandkids, Troy, Kane, Zane and Blakely, Aunt Pearl Stene plus many Nephews and Nieces.
Rose graduated from Havre High School in Havre, MT in 1960 and Northern Montana College in Havre, MT with a Licensed Practical Nurse degree in 1962. She continued in nursing through many hospitals as she followed her husband through his military career for 50 years of nursing from Mother/Baby, Surgery Tech, pre-op preparation for surgeries, finally retiring from Memorial Central Hospital in Colorado Spring,CO as the IV Queen in Out Patient Surgery in 2012.
Rose was a sports enthusiast as she played softball, Skiing, Tennis and Golf. She was also a painter, Photographer, Jewelry maker, loved to sew new outfits, gardner and landscape artist. Rose made many earrings in red,white, blue jewels for 4th of July and gave them to her friends, she also made Counting bracelets for her Golfing buddies that would keep count of how many strokes the player would make but could also be used to keep track of how many drinks you had at the bar. Rose played golf with Patty Ninners, Pikes Peak Women's Golf, Valley Hi Niners golf and Above Par Couples League.
Rose loved to sing. She started singing in the Havre Junior High Choir, Havre High School Choir and every church she joined that had a choir. She sang in the First Lutheran Church choir for many years until she couldn’t follow the music due to dementia any longer. Rose was a musician as she played clarinet and Typanie in the High school band, drums, congas and keyboard at various times in her life. She loved all types of music like Bach, Yanni, Jimmy Buffett (yes she was a parrot head), going to several of his concerts with our friends.
Rose was a traveler as she spent time in Thailand, Germany, Switzerland, Austria, Norway, England, and Mexico. Cruises to many different destinations like the Caribbean and Alaska. Road trips to Minnesota to visit her Uncle and Aunt and to wine countries to taste their freshly harvested products.
While stationed in Stuttgart, Germany, she worked at the Audio-Photo Club on base and became a camera expert on taking photos with different format cameras. She was always taking pictures of what was going on around her. We have many albums to prove it.
Rose was a kind hearted person that wanted to help everyone she ever met. There isn’t a person she didn’t like and would make sure they were properly taken care of at the hospital. She wanted her patients to have the best experience and left with a smile on their face. She loved her grandchildren and great grandchildren very much and wanted them to succeed in life. She will be greatly missed.
Rose was very faithful in the church. She volunteered to prepare communion for the first service. At the First Lutheran church in San Bernardino, CA, she was President of the alcw ladies, she lead the group to a convention in San Francisco. She was also very active as a member of the Officer’s Wives club wherever she was stationed with her husband.
A memorial service is scheduled to take place at First Lutheran Church, located at 1515 N Cascade Ave, Colorado Springs, CO 80907, United States. The service will be held on November 7, 2025 at 1:00 PM.
Donations can be given in her honor to the First Lutheran Church or the Alzheimer Research foundation.
