

Ruthie Lee Hyatte, 93, of Colorado Springs, Colorado, passed away peacefully at home on 22 November 2025. Born on February 12, 1932, in DeFuniak Springs, Florida, Ruthie lived a life rooted in faith, family, and service to others.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Irene Wilson; her devoted husband of 62 years, James G. Hyatte, with whom she shared a life filled with love and purpose; two sisters: Louversia Whitley and Bernice Huggins, and two brothers: Nathaniel Howard and Joseph Howard.
Ruthie is survived by her three sons (Her Boys): Ronald Hyatte (Martha), Madison, Alabama; Donald Hyatte, Colorado Springs, Colorado; and Bruce Hyatte, Colorado Springs, Colorado; granddaughter Deidre Joffe and great-grandson Joshua Joffe of Madison, Alabama; nephews Zachary Jemmott of Duluth, Georgia, Vincent Scott of Jacksonville, Florida, and Otis Whitley Jr. of Kaiserslautern, Germany; great nephew Dion Thompson of Dallas, Texas; along with several other nieces, nephews, and their families.
From her earliest days, Ruthie radiated warmth and kindness, her gentle spirit touching all who knew her. Ruthie grew up surrounded by the love of a close-knit family. The values of faith, resilience, and compassion became her steadfast companions—a foundation that would shape her life and the lives of those around her.
Throughout her journey, Ruthie’s heart overflowed with love, creating lifelong bonds that reached beyond her immediate family.
Her unwavering devotion and generous soul left a lasting impression, and the friendships she nurtured became an extended family who cherished her dearly. Ruthie’s legacy lives on in the lives she gently guided, and, in the memories, she wove through her kindness and grace.
A dedicated homemaker, Ruthie devoted her early years to raising her three sons: fostering a nurturing and faith-filled environment. Though she periodically entered the workforce; her priority always focused on her role as a wife and mother.
Ruthie’s legacy is one of unwavering kindness, selflessness, and steadfast faith. Her life was a testament to the power of compassion, and she will be remembered for her gentle spirit, her warm smile, and her unwavering dedication to her family and community.
Ruthie Lee Hyatte will forever be missed and cherished in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
A visitation will be held on December 3, 2025, from 10:00 am to 11:00 am at Memorial Gardens Cemetery & Funeral Home, located at 3825 Airport Road, Colorado Springs, CO, 80910.
The funeral service will take place on December 3, 2025, from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm, at the same location.
A committal service will follow on December 3, 2025, from 12:00 pm to 12:30 pm, also at Memorial Gardens Cemetery & Funeral Home.
