Sara F Lillie

Funeral services celebrating the life of Sara F. Lillie, 87, will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, February 12, 2018 at Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends for a viewing starting at 12:00 p.m. She entered Heaven’s gates on January 30, 2018 in Colorado Springs, Colorado.

Sara Francis Cobb was born February 25, 1930 in Laurel, Mississippi, the daughter of Claudine and Robert Cobb. She was united in marriage to Robert Lillie on October 25, 1948. He preceded her in death January 17, 2004. They were married for 55 blissful years.

Sara worked nights as a telephone operator and spent her days raising four children. She loved her Shih Tzus, Ling Sue and Ching Ching, and she enjoyed crocheting beautiful things for her grandchildren. After retiring, she took pleasure in learning how to play the organ. She had great pride and love for her family. She loved everyone she met, and everyone she met loved her dearly.

She is survived by her children (and their spouses); Robert Lillie Jr., Cynthia (James) Grant, Lynette O’Brien, Randal Lillie; 5 loving grandchildren (and spouses); Julie (Matthew) McCluan, Derrick (Casey) O’Brien, Lisa (Andrew) Clark, Dustin (Kelly) O’Brien, Chrystle (Billy) Oskarson; 12 adoring great-grandchildren; Annalissa (Mark) Jakupcak, Mickenzie McCluan, Grant McCluan, Landon Clark, Livia Clark, Harrison Clark, Aveline Clark, Gavin O’Brien, Tegan O’Brien, Baylee O’Brien, Esperanza Oskarson, Liam O’Brien; and 1 great-great grandchild arriving in June, Lincoln Jakupcak. She is also survived by 1 sister, Betsy (Harold) Young, and 1 brother, Bobby (Evelyn) Young. Additionally, she is survived by 1 sister-in-law, Sharon Gilbert, and 1 brother-in-law, Dean Lillie, along with many loving nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her sister, Joanie Stanley.

Her daughter, Cynthia Grant, lovingly cared for her the last 12 years of her life. The family gives her and everyone else who cared for Sara the greatest gratitude.
