

Sarah A. Marietta, an exuberant and kind young woman, passed away March 5, 2012. While her classic, physical beauty drew notice, it was her loving and accepting spirit that captured hearts. She was 22.
Sarah graduated from Lewis-Palmer High School in 2008. A Peace and Justice major, she attended Regis University in Denver, where she served as President of the dance team. She planned a future that would combine promoting social justice awareness and her love of performers and performing.
Sarah excelled at volleyball, playing at the club, school (Lewis-Palmer), and college (Scripps) levels. An accomplished dancer, Sarah recently discovered aerial fabric performance, devoting countless hours to her art. She loved sand volleyball, rock climbing, and dancing of any form, to include ballet, salsa, and swing.
Sarah is survived by her parents, Tony and Valerie Marietta, grandfather Ed Rubick, grandmother Esther Marietta (Indianapolis), uncles Vaughn Rubick (Keri) Sioux City, Iowa, Van Rubick, and Vern Rubick (Dawn), and aunt Donna Purichia (Indianapolis).
Swan-Law Funeral Directors is coordinating details. The funeral service will be held Thursday, March 15, 10:00 a.m. at the USAF Academy Catholic Chapel. A reception will follow at the Falcon Club (Officers’ Club).
A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held Saturday, March 17, 11:00 a.m. at St. John Francis Regis Chapel, Regis University, 5198 Lowell Blvd, Denver. Reception to follow.
