

Sharon was born February 23, 1942, in Colorado Springs, Colorado to Richard and Doris Howell.
She had four siblings, Donald, Beverly, Sandy and Shirley.
Sharon often told stories about growing up in the Springs, off 8th street and how she worked with her parents at the bakery that they owned. She also talked about bringing her daughter Catherine with her when she worked. She would also share stories about working for someone in the mountains and being chased by a bear as she brought out the trash.
Later in her young life, Sharon met Harry Etter and often shared a story about their first date, where Harry walked to a car, which was a Ford Thunderbird, and said “let’s take this one”, which was his but she didn’t believe him, they went and had banana splits; she said that’s when she fell in love. They married in 1966 and built a family in Colorado Springs and had two children, Catherine and Marilyn.
Sharon enjoyed painting, crafts, fishing, cooking, but most of all being a mother, a wife and later a grandmother and great-great grandmother. She loved her family and took pride in being able to raise her family. There was never a doubt that her family felt that love. Whether it was a delicious meal, joining in with games, cards or painting ceramics, she was always available for her children and grandchildren. Sharon was loved by all her family and will be missed!
Sharon is preceded in death by her loving parents, James and Doris, siblings, Donald, Beverly, Sandra and Shirley and her husband Harry Etter.
Sharon is survived by her children; Catherine Szabo, Marilyn Sheets, Marilyn’s husband Marshell; her grandchildren, Kevin Peyton, Jasmine Smith, and Kevin’s wife Dawn; her great grandchildren, Donovan, Tyler and Madilynn Peyton, Cecilia and Cayden Smith, Jake and Nate Sheets; her great-great grandchildren; Evalina and Daisy Peyton. As well as many nieces and nephews.
A viewing will be held on February 25, 2025, from 12:00pm to 1:00 pm with a service to follow from 1:00pm to 2:00pm at the Swan-Law Funeral Directors, State Room, 501 N. Cascade Ave, Colorado Springs, Colorado.
On February 26, 2025, at 11:00 am, Sharon will go to her final resting place being laid to rest with her husband Harry at Ft. Logan National Cemetery at 4400 W. Kenyon Ave, Denver, CO.
