Shawn was an adventurous soul, who lived his life bravely. At the age of 18 he survived a 75 foot fall from a mountain and continued to live his life fully. Shawn enjoyed being out doors, camping, hunting, and fishing. Recently he spent his time walking his property and watching the trees he planted grow into the forest he always wanted. He was a collector of swords, guns, stamps and coins and dragons. He spent his Friday nights watching movies and eating pizza with his wife and his Sundays calling his parents. He loved learning about new things and when he was not listening to News Radio he was reading the Guiness Book of World Records. Being a Father and Grandfather was one of his most favorite roles, checking in daily to make sure everyone was doing well.
Shawn considered no person a stranger and took time to interact with all he came into contact with. His stories could be both elaborate and he was considered to be the best at creating his own versions of the truth. He was a jokester at heart and loved to make people laugh. Those who were fortunate to meet and know Shawn left with a friend for life.
He is survived by his wife, Deborah Kerns, Daughter Ashley Manson her husband Corrie Manson and his grandson Wyatt Manson. Daughter Korryn Kerns and significant other, Chance Seymour. Son Craig Doucette and his wife Kacey Doucette and son Jimmy Doucette. Shawn was also survived by his Brother Rocky Kerns and his wife Cindy Kerns, and his Brother Tim Kerns and his wife Patty Kerns.
