How is life such a tragedy when you see such laughter and happiness in every line of her face? How can times be so tough when you can remember the grace of every moment with her?

Hope is not ours to hold and shape. It is not simply an absence of darkness. It is not an object to give or gain. It is not anguish or contrast that brings out the best within us or pushes us to find ourselves, but the light already inside that bursts through despair and makes the shadows of our times merely darkened corners of memories.

Hope is what you feel when you look at someone and see their soul, the clouds pierced by the glow bubbling forth from their heart. When they have so much life within them that you know for certain that there is more to the world, more to ourselves, more to come than what we can ever hold in our cupped hands. Hope is the breath you take before laughter. The twinkle and mystery in the eyes of someone you love. Hope is my Aunt Shirley.

Hope doesn't leave us with her body. It stays in the memory of her smile and the sound of her laugh. It is not the darkness of loss that clouds over us with her passing but the light shining through the storm every thought of her makes us feel.

I am so sorry to hear of Shirley's passing. My heart goes out to you all at this time. I never got to meet Shirley,but Natalie has always spoken of her with much love and fondness. The photos are lovely,you have some beautiful memories of a beautiful woman.

My heartfelt condolences to the entire family.  The photographs were a beautiful tribute to Mrs. Walters, as I always called her.  She will be missed my many.

Our hearts and prayers go out to you and your entire family.  May the memories you hold so dear help comfort you and bring some peace.  Your mom and grandma will live on in you in all you do.  All our love to you.
