Starlette Sue 'Star' Young

Starlette “Star” S. Young, loving wife, mother, and aunt passed away June 15th, 2017 in Colorado Springs, CO. She was born in Manistique, MI to Alvin and Irene.

While attending Michigan State University, she met Bill Young and they married in 1970, relocating to Colorado Springs shortly thereafter. Star had a passion for interior design and opened Reflections of Design in the 1980’s.

She had a great love for gardening, nature, and animals. She loved spending time in her gardens’ with her family, friends, and dogs. Star was deeply devoted to her family and enjoyed sharing stories and memories of the time they spent together. She enjoyed cooking for her family and although she had favorite recipes passed down from her relatives, she always had a new recipe to try. Star was also active in the BMW community and never turned down an opportunity to take part in a car event with her husband Bill.

Star was preceded in death by her husband William “Bill” J. Young IV. She left behind her children, Kristen Young-Lee and William “Will” Young V; son-in-law Jeremy and step-grandchildren Stone and Parker Lee; brother and sister-in-law Dale and Alisa; Nephews Chris and Dylan; her dog Lilly and a multitude of wonderful friends.

Services will be held on Wednesday June 28th, 2017 at 1:00pm at Mountain View Mortuary; 2350 Montebello Square Dr., Colorado Springs. CO 80918. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Colorado Beagle Rescue: P.O. Box 2704, Littleton, CO 80161.
