3 February, 196022 December, 2019

Suzanne “Susie” Michele Almeida passed away at the age of 59 on December 22, 2019 with her family by her side.

Susie was born on February 03, 1960 to Leonard and Helen Gleason in Harlingen, Texas. She was raised with six siblings: four sisters: Carole, Jennifer, Cindi and Melanie, two brothers; Michael and Christopher who have proceeded her in death. Her father served in the United States Air Force so her family did travel a lot.

Susie’s family were very close and then she became a mother to her three children: Elishia, Daniel and Joshua. Family was everything to her. Susie's children blessed her with five grandchildren: James Michael, Taylor, Austin, Kaleb and Lyla.

Anyone who knew Susie knew that her family and friends were her world. Her happy places were Ocean City, NJ and Las Vegas, NV where her family would meet every May for vacation.

Susie worked for the US Postal Service for the last 25 years before she became ill. Prior to working for the US Postal Service, Susie worked in the Construction Industry as an “Administrative Assistant” and for Target.

Susie loved her title as “Nana”. Her grandchildren were her “Babies”. At the end of her journey, family dinners at “Aunt Jenner’s” house was what her and her family looked forward too.

Susie is survived by her daughter; Elishia (James) Chavaria, sons; Daniel (Lindsey) Almeida and Joshua Welch, sisters; Carole (Robert) Phelps, Jennifer (Richard) Baker, Cindi (John) Kurtz and Melanie Gleason, grandchildren; James Michael, Taylor, Austin, Kaleb and Lyla.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory many nieces, nephews, bonus children and grandchildren as well as lifelong friends whom were like family to her.

Proceeded in death by her parents; Leonard and Helen, brothers; Michael and Christopher.

We will miss you, especially your Children and Grandchildren. I was so sad to hear of your passing. We shared our Grandchildren and we loved them very much. You treated Austin like he was your own. And for that I will always be grateful.

Thank you for being such a wonderful person to Jordon and myself ! No one cared more than you! You did not have to take us in, and you loved us! Thank you! I am forever grateful for the love you showed us. I am a better person and mom because you showed me how to love unconditionally, and I can never repay you for that! Thank you
