Todd Robert Pettibone

He was born June 12,1961 in Cedar Rapids, Iowa and, as a child, moved first to Denver and then to Colorado Springs along with his older brother, Jeff, and parents Charlys Van Cleve and Jim Pettibone. After graduating in 1979 from Coronado High School, he attended and graduated from Arizona Automotive Institute in 1980.

Todd’s love of cars led to a profession as an auto mechanic as well as to his hobby as a stock car racer in the annual Pikes Peak Hill Climb, in which he participated for many years. At the time of his death, Todd ran a power-washing company and cleaned Bestway’s fleet of sanitation vehicles.

In his spare time, Todd enjoyed barbequing, working on cars, camping and spending time with his friends at O’Furry’s Sports Bar. All will miss his generous nature and wit.

Todd is survived by his father, Jim Pettibone of Colorado Springs and brother Jeff Pettibone (wife Lori Von Rueden), of Redwood City, CA and many friends. His sister, Brenda, Mother, Charlys, and grandparents Charlie and Marie Van Cleve, Clarence and Mable Simon predeceased Todd.

A Memorial Service will be held Thursday, July 16, 2015, at 2:00 p.m.,Swan-Law Funeral Directors.

Todd will be laid to rest at Memorial Gardens in Colorado Springs near his mother and grandparents.
