She was born in Colorado Springs on November 25, 1924 and graduated from Colorado Springs High School. Verna married John “Jack” Humphrey in 1948.
For many years Verna was a nurse in the United States Navy and was a member of Elks Lodge #309 and Fraternal Order of Eagles.
She is preceded in death by her husband, John “Jack” Humphrey; her brothers and sisters, Delberta, Forest, Rose, Viola, Naoma Delbert, Ray, Bill, and Gary.
She is survived by her daughter Grace Long (Doug), son Jack Humphrey (Michele), 5 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild.
A funeral service will be held 11:00 AM, Wednesday, November 21, 2018 at Memorial Gardens Cemetery and Funeral Home, 3825 Airport Rd., Colorado Springs.
