Vickie Lynn Thompson

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Vickie Lynn Thompson, a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. After a long battle with her health, Vickie went on to meet her Lord and Savior as she was surrounded by her loving family on December 22, 2023. She was 74 years old.

Vickie was born in Fort Worth, Texas, and married her husband, Truman, in June of 1970. The two were inseparable from that point on. They built a beautiful life together for over 53 years, always holding strong to the love that brought them together. During that time, they raised two daughters, Venissa and Larisa, and, through family trips, youth retreats, reunions, holidays, and general togetherness, built a loving and enduring bond that only grew when they married and blessed Vickie and Truman with four grandchildren. Together, they created invaluable memories traveling the US and abroad and sharing life’s precious moments.

Vickie was an absolutely remarkable woman, known for her warm and caring personality, her amazing cooking, and her love of arts, crafts, holidays, and celebrations. She had a generous heart, a loving hand, and a strong faith in the Lord. She dedicated much of her life to caring for and teaching children, giving them love and bringing them joy as if they were her own. Even as busy as she was, Vickie was always present for her family throughout countless school plays, carnivals, recitals, concerts, sporting events, and important life events. More than anything in this world, she loved her family. They came first, and her support was unwavering. That love is evident in the family traditions established throughout the years that are still continued to this day.

The hole left by Vickie’s absence is impossible to fill. She made the sun and the stars shine brighter. Her kindness and compassion touched the lives of many, and she will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her. Vickie’s nurturing spirit, unwavering support, and boundless love will forever live on in the hearts of her husband, children, and grandchildren.

Vickie was predeceased by her father, Paul; her mother, Helen; and her brother, Douglas. She is survived by her brother, Steve; her loving husband, Truman; her devoted daughters, Venissa and Larisa; her loving sons in law, Roger and Danny; and her four beautiful grandchildren, Tanner, Sydney, Adrienne, and Audrey. A celebration of life honoring Vickie will be held at The Perfect Spot in Fort Worth on February 4, 2024.
