

Violeta Sulsona, beloved wife and mother, 82, of Colorado Springs passed away April, 22, 2025. Born in New York, NY, she was the fourth child of Jesus and Angelina (Montelara) Delgado, in a family of 15 children.
In 1963 she was married to Jack Sulsona in Brentwood, NY. They had three children.
In 1993, she earned her Bachelor of Arts in Spanish degree (Cum Laude) from the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs. Mrs. Sulsona worked in the legal field as a paralegal and administrative assistant including employment at the United States Air Force Academy and Ft. Carson in Colorado Springs. She also had a cosmetology degree.
A devout Catholic, Mrs. Sulsona began her journey toward becoming a Carmelite in the early 1980s as an Isolate with the Carmelite Western Province. She was Clothed in the Brown Scapular in 1982. She made her Temporary Promise at Holy Cross Abbey in Cañon City, CO in 1987 and made her Definitive Promise at Corpus Cristi Church in Colorado Springs in 1992.
Mrs. Sulsona retired to Georgetown, TX in 2007 with her husband and moved back to Colorado in 2020. While in Texas, she joined the Carmelite Community Triumph of the Cross in September, 2007 and was President of their study group from 2009-2011.
Mrs. Sulsona loved to travel, read, crochet, cuddle her pet dog Jakey, and most of all, spend time with friends and family. She was known for her kindness and warm smile. More recently, she is remembered for her love of music and singing hymns.
She leaves behind her son David of Colorado Springs, CO; her daughter Angelica and husband Richard Sostheim of Colorado Springs, CO; and a daughter Marie-Therese of Denver, CO. She is also survived by four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband Jack Sulsona.
There will be a recitation of the Rosary at 10:30 am at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, 3122 Poinsetta Dr, Colorado Springs, CO 80907 on Friday, May 16, 2025. The funeral mass begins at 11:00 am with a reception to immediately follow.
