I was very saddened to hear of Bill's passing.  We met at Santa Barbara High
School some fifty years ago and headed
off to Cal Poly San Luis Obispo where we shared a dorm room and later a cottage at Pismo Beach.  I knew Bill's Mom and Dad, sister and brother
too. He was the best kind of guy for a
friend where you could continue the 
conversation where it left off no matter how many years went by. I always called him "Swiftly" and he 
called me "Barely" making fun of our
last names. Bill was creative and loyal
and a great skier. I'm four months older and in worse shape, so I always thought he would outlive me by a mile.
He will be greatly missed by his friends and family.  God bless you, "Swiftly!"

My heart goes out to the family. Bill was a special guy. He loved his family and would do anything for them. Bill was like a brother to me. I'll never forget the projects that we worked on together, the many ski trips we enjoyed together, hiking the mountain trails, fantastic meals that he prepared and his love for his family. Im am so thankful that God allowed our paths to cross. I love you man.

I first met Bill in 1969 when he was working on the Shrike improved Display System (SIDS) project.

Our Texas Instruments careers come together again in Ridgecrest California on the HARM missile project.

We worked together in Colorado Springs on various electronic warfare projects and traveled together on "the trail of tears" from Colorado to McKinney Texas.

We worked for and with each other many times.

Bill was always the steady and pleasant engineer in a company that had strong personalities and fierce competition.

Bill was a model family man.  He moved his daughter's "doll House" a two story building from California to Colorado.  It took a dozen friends to move it to his back yard.

Bill made many good memories for many people.  We will miss him.

Bill was a true gentleman, a loyal friend and an excellent engineer. We are very saddened by his sudden passing. May he rest in Peace, and may his family be consoled by their faith in God and their sweet memories of him.

I'm proud to have been associated with Bill at Texas Instruments in Colorado Springs.

May the Swift family have comforting memories of Bill and he eternal peace.
