Adela Del Carmen Castro

Adela Del Carmen Castro was born on August 6th, 1953 to Antonia Fuentes and Toribio Alvarado in Concepcion Quezaltepeque, Chalatenango in El Salvador. As a child, she had a humble upbringing and was taken under the care of her aunt Rosa América Alvarado (Tía Rosita) who made sure Adela had an education. Through dedication and hard work, Adela attended university and earned a master’s degree in Social Work. Years later, prompted by the civil war in El Salvador and the prospect of a better life for her son, she left life in El Salvador and moved to the United States.

Here, she would eventually find and marry the love of her life Luduvico Castro. They shared love, travel, and most importantly, a strong faith and belief in God.

In her later years, Adela fought increasingly difficult battles with health issues. She was brave and strong, but eventually passed away on January 2nd, 2021. She is now at peace.

Adela is survived by her aunts Tía Rosita and Tía Berta, sisters Becxi, Teresa, Reina, Cristy, and Alma, brothers Francisco, Evelio, and Isaías, and countless more family and friends.

She is also survived by her loving husband Luduvico Castro and her son Carlos Linares who were lucky enough to become the focus and center of her love and life. She leaves a tremendous hole in us. We will miss her.

Adela Del Carmen Castro nació el 6 de agosto de 1953 de Antonia Fuentes y Toribio Alvarado en Concepción Quezaltepeque, Chalatenango en El Salvador. De niña, tuvo una educación humilde y estuvo bajo el cuidado de su tía Rosa América Alvarado (Tía Rosita) quien se aseguró de que Adela tuviera una educación. Con dedicación y trabajo duro, Adela asistió a la universidad y obtuvo una maestría en Trabajo Social. Años más tarde, impulsada por la guerra civil en El Salvador y la perspectiva de una vida mejor para su hijo, dejó la vida en El Salvador y se mudó a los Estados Unidos.

Aquí, eventualmente encontraría y se casaría con el amor de su vida, Luduvico Castro. Compartieron amor, viajes y, lo más importante, una fuerte fe y creencia en Dios.

En sus últimos años, Adela libró batallas cada vez más difíciles con problemas de salud. Fue valiente y fuerte, pero finalmente falleció el 2 de enero de 2021. Ahora está en paz.

A Adela le sobreviven sus tías Tía Rosita y Tía Berta, sus hermanas Becxi, Teresa, Reina, Cristy y Alma, sus hermanos Francisco, Evelio e Isaías, e innumerables familiares y amigos más.

También le sobreviven su amado esposo Luduvico Castro y su hijo Carlos Linares, quienes tuvieron la suerte de convertirse en el foco y el centro de su amor y su vida. Nos deja un tremendo agujero adentro. La extrañaremos.
