Alberto Luna Gonzalez

Alberto Luna González era un hombre tierno, cariñoso y amado por muchos. Después de una larga batalla de 18 años contra la enfermedad de Parkinson, falleció tranquilamente la mañana del 3 de Julio de 2022 en su casa, como deseaba.

Alberto nació en Los Trigos, Zacatecas el Miércoles 28 de Julio de 1954. Es el tercero de nueve hijos que tuvieron la señora Domitila y Pablo Luna. Alberto le encantaba contar historias de su infancia. Recordaba amar aprender cosas nuevas, por eso amaba tanto la escuela. Solía contar historias sobre cómo él y sus hermanos ayudaban a sus padres en la granja. Desde sembrar, cosechar, moler nixtamal y ayudar a alimentar a los animales, hasta finalmente descubrir la pasión que tenía dentro de él por todo lo que tenía que ver con los caballos.

Alberto vino a los Estados Unidos alrededor de 1974 como muchas personas para buscar un futuro mejor. Conoció a su esposa María Olga en 1975 y se casaron en 1979. Alberto y María vivían en Long Beach, CA. Tuvieron su primer hijo Alberto Jr. en 1982, su segundo hijo Joe nació en 1985 y su hija Mayra en 1991. Mientras criaban a su familia en el sur de California, decidieron mudarse a una ciudad más pequeña y tranquila llamada Elko, NV en 1993. Un pequeño pueblo enfocado en la minería de oro. Rápidamente se establecieron allí y continuaron criando a su familia. Sus hijos asistían a escuelas públicas. Alberto trabajó en múltiples trabajos, y finalmente trabajó durante aproximadamente 15 años en ALS Chemex Lab, que involucró el muestreo de minas. Allí conoció a muchas personas a lo largo de los años que se hicieron cercanas a él y querían mucho a Alberto. Tanto Alberto como María trabajaron a tiempo completo para mantener su hogar y sus hijos. Su primer hijo, Alberto Jr., finalmente se fue de casa en 2001 para unirse a la Armada de los Estados Unidos, de lo que Alberto estaba muy orgulloso. Alberto Jr conoció a su esposa Rosemary Luna en 2007 y se casaron en 2008. De ellos tiene a sus nietos Audrey Michelle (13), Natalie Maria (11) y Alberto III (6). Su segundo hijo, Joe, vivía y trabajaba en Elko. De Joe tiene a sus nietos Myralyn (9), Analyn (5) y Rosalyna (3). Su hija Mayra se casó con su novio de la escuela secundaria, Moises Luna, en 2012. De ellos, tiene a sus nietos, Leonardo Moises (4) y Emma Sophia (1). A Alberto le encantaba pasar tiempo con sus nietos y jugar y bailar con ellos también. Era divertido, le encantaba bailar y bromear.

Alberto amaba mucho a su familia y siempre daba los mejores consejos y consuelo. Le encantaba ver a la gente tener éxito y empujaba a la gente a seguir sus sueños, siempre teniendo un buen corazón y cuidando a los demás en el camino. También era muy goloso, le encantaba el chocolate, el helado de napoleón y, bueno, cualquier tipo de postre. Si alguna vez le preguntaste qué quería comer, su opción era hamburguesas y papas fritas con una coca cola. Pasó muchos de estos rasgos a sus hijos y nietos porque también comparten su amor por la comida chatarra.

Alberto compartió algo especial con cada uno de sus hijos. Alberto y Jr amaban el béisbol, ambos entrenarían equipos y jugarían por diversión. Ambos siempre han sido hombres hábiles. El amor por las herramientas, la reparación y la construcción corre profundamente en su sangre, pero también el miedo al fracaso. Los autos eran algo con lo que Alberto y Joe se unían. A ambos les encantaban los coches rápidos de diferentes marcas y modelos. Alberto y Mayra compartieron su amor por los dulces y las cosas buenas de la vida. Ir de compras para ellos siempre fue divertido. Pero a Alberto siempre le encantó compartir su entusiasmo por el nacimiento de su hija. Presumía de cómo manifestó a la hija que siempre quiso y les contaba a todos que soñaba con una hermosa niña como hija. El día que nació Mayra, corrió por los pasillos del hospital para avisarles a todos que había nacido su bebé.

Desafortunadamente, en 2004, Alberto comenzó a sentirse mal y después de dos años de pruebas, le diagnosticaron la enfermedad de Parkinson en 2006. Sin embargo, Alberto siempre fue un luchador, se negó a permitir que esta enfermedad lo derribara sin luchar. Trató de encontrar todos y cada uno de los tipos de alivio a través de la investigación y las recomendaciones de cuidado. Después de agotar su búsqueda en Elko, NV y sus alrededores, Alberto y María se mudaron a California durante 3 años para probar otras opciones allí.

El 31 de Diciembre de 2019, Alberto y su esposa María decidieron mudarse con su hijo mayor Alberto Jr, su esposa Rosemary y sus tres hijos Audrey, Natalie y Alberto III. Mientras estuvo en Washington, sus habilidades manuales y artesanales fueron útiles para el hogar. Ayudó a su hijo a construir estantes en el garaje, a construir una maceta grande para María y Rosemary, a construir las literas de Audrey y Natalie, a construir la cómoda de su nieto y la lista continúa. Siempre trató de encontrar pasatiempos en la casa para mantenerse ocupado. En sus días malos, hacía hermosos Rosarios o accesorios de cuero para sillas de montar, como los que hacía para los caballos. A pesar de todo, sintiéndose enfermo o no, ver los juegos de LA Dodger fue lo más destacado de su día. Siempre había pasión rezumando de él a través de cada juego, gane o pierda.

Cuando su hijo se fue en un despliegue de 10 meses, Alberto se aseguró de ayudar con todo lo que pudo para ayudar mientras su hijo no estaba. Y aunque a menudo se sentía enfermo durante el día, saber que podía ayudar con cualquier cosa de la casa lo motivó a luchar contra la tortura, sentirse mejor y ayudar a arreglar cualquier cosa, desde puertas rotas, inodoros con fugas, cortar el césped, cortar cartón. cajas para colocar en la papelera de reciclaje, sacar la basura y mucho más. Alberto Luna Gonzalez was a gentle, caring tender man who is loved by so many. After a lengthy 18 year battle with Parkinson’s Disease, he passed away peacefully on the morning of July 3rd 2022 at home, as he wished.

Alberto was born in Los Trigos, Zacatecas on Wednesday, July, 28th 1954. He is the third of nine children that Mrs. Domitila and Pablo Luna had. Alberto loved telling stories from his childhood. He would recall loving to learn new things which is why he loved school so much. He used to tell stories about how he and his siblings would help their parents on the farm. From planting, harvesting, grinding nixtamal and helping feed the animals, to eventually discovering the passion he had within him for all things that had to do with horses.

Alberto came to the United States around 1974 like many people to try for a better future. He met his wife Maria Olga in 1975 and they were married in 1979. Alberto and Maria lived in Long Beach, CA. They had their 1st son Alberto Jr. in 1982, their 2nd son Joe came in 1985, and their daughter Mayra in 1991. While raising their family in Southern California, they decided to move to a smaller, quieter city called Elko, NV in 1993. A small town focused on gold mining. They quickly settled down there and continued to raise their family. Their kids attended public schools. Alberto worked in multiple jobs, ultimately working for about 15 years in ALS Chemex Lab which involved mine sampling. He met many people there over the years who became close to him and loved Alberto very much. Both Alberto and Maria worked full time to provide for their home and kids. Their first son Alberto Jr. eventually left home in 2001 to join the United States Navy which Alberto was very proud of. Alberto Jr met his wife Rosemary Luna in 2007 and got married in 2008. From them he has his grand kids Audrey Michelle (13), Natalie Maria (11), and Alberto III (6). Their second son Joe lived and worked in Elko. From Joe he has his grandkids Myralyn (9), Analyn (5), and Rosalyna (3). Their daughter Mayra married her High School sweetheart Moises Luna in 2012. From them, he has his grandkids Leonardo Moises (4) and Emma Sophia (1). Alberto loved to spend time with his grandkids and play and dance with them too. He was fun, loved to dance and joke around.

Alberto loved his family dearly and always gave the best advice and comfort. He loved seeing people succeed and would push people to follow their dreams, always having a good heart and caring for others along the way. He also had the biggest sweet tooth, he loved his chocolate, napoleon ice cream, and well, just any kind of desserts. If you ever asked him what he wanted to eat, his go to was burgers and fries with a coke. He passed a lot of these traits down to his kids and grandkids because they share their love for junk food too.

Alberto shared something special with each of his kids. Alberto and Jr loved baseball, they both would coach teams and play for fun. They have both always been handymen. The love for tools, fixing and building runs deep in their blood, but so does the fear of failure. Cars were something Alberto and Joe bonded with. They both loved fast cars in different makes and models. Alberto and Mayra shared their love for sweets and the finer things in life. Shopping for random things was always fun. But Alberto always loved to share his excitement about his daughters birth. He would brag about how he manifested the daughter he always wanted and would tell everyone about a dream he had about a beautiful little girl as a daughter. The day Mayra was born he ran across the halls in the hospital letting everyone know his baby girl was born.

Unfortunately in 2004, Alberto started feeling sick and after two years of testing he was diagnosed with Parkinson’s Disease in 2006. However, Alberto has always been a trooper, he refused to allow this disease to bring him down without a fight. He tried to find every and any kind of relief through research and caring recommendations. After exhausting his search in Elko, NV and surrounding areas, Alberto and Maria moved to California for 3 years to try other options there.

On December 31st 2019, Alberto and his wife Maria decided to move in with their eldest son Alberto Jr, his wife Rosemary and their three kids Audrey, Natalie and Alberto III. While in Washington his handyman and craftsmanship skills came in handy to the household. He helped his son build shelves in the garage, build a big planter for Maria and Rosemary, build Audrey and Natalie’s bunk beds, build his grandson’s dresser and the list goes on. He always tried to find hobbies around the house to keep him busy. On his down days, he would make beautiful Rosary’s or leather saddle accessories, like those he would make for horses. Through it all, feeling sick or not, watching LA Dodger games was a highlight of his day. There was always passion oozing out of him through each game, win or lose.

When his son left on a 10 month deployment, Alberto made sure to assist with everything he could to help while his son was gone. And although he would often feel sick throughout the day, knowing he could help with anything around the house, motivated him to fight through the torture, to feel better and help fix anything from broken doors, leaking toilets, mowing the lawn, cutting up cardboard boxes to fit into the recycling bin, taking out the trash and so much more. If he wasn’t at home, you were sure to find him at Home Depot.

There was NOTHING that was going to keep him from helping in any way he possibly could, no matter where Alberto was in life. Everyone of his family members remembers him and misses him dearly because of the amazing legacy he left behind. The most kind, caring, loving, person we’ve known.
