Alex Quintero, at the young age of 21 passed away on Sunday, February 12, 2023. Alex was born in the city of Colton at Arrowhead Hospital. He was definitely a blessing upon his arrival and was an only child to his single father Ricardo Quintero. He had many cousins from his dad's side who they were more like his siblings.
He grew up in the city of Fontana and attended schooling there from kindergarten all the way up until his graduation at Eric Birch High School, year of 2019. Hardworking, entrepreneur, Ricky as a single father, always did his best in including Alex's cousins in all outings and childhood experiences to ensure Alex never felt alone. Anywhere from walking around the mall (window shopping) unless Alex demanded to have it, it was his. Ricky took Alex and his cousins to Amusement Parks, such as Scandia, Disneyland, Disneyland Adventure, Knotts Berry Farm, Soak City and during Halloween they enjoyed going to Universal Studios with the hopes of seeing Freddy Keuger in the parking lot. They too enjoyed trips to the movies, parks, and Mount Baldy during the winter to enjoy the snow, and during the summer they enjoyed visiting the creeks and ponds and the beach. Santa Monica will always be remembered as Alex's favorite beach.
Alex was proud to call Ricky his dad and embraced his last name, Quintero, as well as being Colombian American. As mentioned, Ricky did all he could to ensure Alex had a memorable childhood. In his Elementary Schools days, he experienced one of the best trips of his life, flying to Colombia. After spending an entire summer there, he learned Spanish and his communication with Grandma Blanca improved. He was then able to translate anything his cousins didn't understand. With the admiration, Alex had for wrestling his Dad went above and beyond to drive him to San Diego a few times to enjoy some WWE for his birthday. He was so attached to his Dad (GG) as he called him, and not even a sleepover with his cousins can separate the two.
Growing up, Alex was born with a chronic condition that was troublesome but never stopped him from enjoying life and keeping active. During his middle school years, he joined a wrestling and basketball team. With the support of his Dad, cheering at every game, Alex always shot for greatness. Win or lose we were all always proud.
Alex's cousins - siblings went through some hardships and found themselves living in the same household as Alex. During that time and every year of his life he was always welcoming. Anything anyone ever needed he was there. Whether if it was making shells or carne to feed an appetite, to a towel or toilet paper. He was extremely thoughtful and would even take a shirt off of his back to provide for someone in need. Although, he was the youngest of all of his cousins he took care of everyone including his Grandma, as he was the caregiver.
In High School, Alex was very intrigued with clothing, shoes, and mustangs. He was big a-on being well-dressed and enjoyed building his hat collection. His friends described him as being caring, when they didn't have much Alex didn't hesitate in being there for them. Also, cooking for them if they were hungry or just being a shoulder to lean on. Regardless of what he was going through in life he remained selfless, thoughtful, self-driven, and ambitious. Making his family proud yet again, he graduated High School, year of 2019.
Following his dad's footsteps, Alex always had that Entrepreneur mindset. Straight out of High School, he obtained a job in the warehouse industry. His vision was always to start his own business like his father did.
At the age of 21, Alex found love with Paris Fahy. When meeting Paris, she was experiencing hardships, he quickly understood and related to her on a very deep level. They both shared similar life experiences, when she didn't have much he quickly took her into his home and introduced her to his GG. Together they shared hobbies, collecting shoes, and shared favorite shows such as Rick and Marty. The two really uplifted each other and encouraged one another to do good for themselves. Alex and Paris had plans to travel to Egypt, share a home, and start a family.
Ricardo describes his one and only son as a special boy who likes to take care of people, give to people, and loved to make them laugh. He loved animals and people more than himself. He was his best and only friend.
It goes without being said that Alex has made a huge impact on everyone's life, especially his GG and his love Paris. He has taken a piece of all of his loved ones with him but is still living within every single one of them. During this difficult time GG and the family are facing any thoughts and prayers will be greatly appreciated as this has been the worst thing this family has ever experienced. May our dear Alex fly high into heaven with his angel wings.
“Because I have loved life, I shall have no sorrow to die. I have sent up my gladness on wings, to be lost in the blue of the sky. I have run and leaped with the rain, I have taken the wind to my breast. My cheek like a drowsy child to the face of the earth I have pressed. Because I have loved life, I shall have no sorrow to die.”
Visitation for Alex will be held Wednesday, March 1, 2023 from 5:00pm to 8:00pm at Montecito Memorial Park & Mortuary, Cypress Chapel, 24145 Barton Road, Loma Linda, California 92354.
