Alfonso A. Ortega, just shy of his 87th birthday, died on Saturday, January 9 2021. He was born in Los Angeles, CA on January 23, 1934. He graduated in 1952 from Cathedral High School. As a member of the United States Airforce from 1952-1956, he fought in the Korean War. During the 1960’s he settled in La Puente, CA and raised a family with his beloved wife Helen B. Ortega. He retired from State Service, having worked for the Department of Rehabilitation. He became a life member of the American Legion in Adelanto, CA of which he was 25th District Commander and Post 229 Commander, as well as a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and AmVets. Alfonso was preceded in death by his beloved wife Helen B. Ortega and his siblings, Jennie and Manual. He is survived by his children, Sofie, Daniel, Dolores, and David along with 7 grandchildren and partner, Helen Moore.
