Devoted husband, dad, grandpa,
brother, and friend to all,
Went to be with the Lord on February 3, 2020 in his home surrounded by his loving family. Alphonzo was born September 22,1941 in Redlands, CA to Simon and Mercy Mancinas. He was a lifetime resident of Redlands. Alphonzo grew up with his brothers and sisters in Redlands and made many lifelong friends there. He graduated from Redlands High School in 1960 and immediately enlisted into the U.S. Army, completing his basic training at Fort Ord, CA. In 1966 he was honorably discharged from the Army’s U.S. National Guard. Alphonzo then found work in the lumber industry in which he worked for over 40 years. There, he was also a loyal member of the Carpenters Union. Working with lumber for so many years also gave him a love for building things. After retirement he began a passion for gardening and growing many plants, orchids being his favorite. Alphonzo found so much joy in supporting his grandkids through all of their achievements and extra curricular activities and was always very proud of them. He especially enjoyed watching his grandson play his favorite sport, baseball. Throughout the years he made so many beautiful memories with family and friends spending time together on vacations or just hanging out on the weekends. Time with family and friends were always most important to him. But above all, Alphonzo had an immense love for his wife Mary, his kids, and his grandkids and they will always have that same immense love for him.
Alphonzo was preceded in death by his parents, Simon and Mercy Mancinas, his brothers, Adolf and Henry Mancinas, his sisters, Linda Saldana and Gloria Garcia. He is survived by his wife Mary Mancinas, his siblings, Edward Holguin, Simon Mancinas, Connie Sparks, Juanita Ramirez, and Anita Lippold, his daughter, Jennifer (David) Rivera, his son Alphonzo (Rhiannon) Mancinas Jr., and his grandkids, Heaven Rivera, Analyse Mancinas, Alphonzo Mancinas III, Isabella Rivera, and Sophia Rivera. Services will be held at Montecito Memorial 3520 E. Washington St. Colton, CA 92324 on Monday, February 24, 2020 @ 1:00pm and reception followed @ American Legion Post 650, 1532 Church St. Redlands, CA.
