Muchas gracias por haber sido parte de nuestra familia. My dear cousin Alyssa, I write this with a heavy heart knowing you are no longer here, but I find comfort and honor in the love and memories we shared. You were more than my cousin, you were like a sister to me. From our early memories of playing with our Disney flip phones to seeing you turn 29 years old, it has always been a privilege  to do life with you. Gracias prima por los momentos que compartimos, pasamos largo tiempo sin vernos desde la primera vez que nos vimos en el rancho, el reencuentro con los primos en california en 2017, después de tantos años, fue alucinante, pensé que sería difícil, más pronto conectamos y después nos vimos todos más seguidos y me ayudó a reconocer el valor de la familia y la unión que teníamos después de tanto tiempo, por mi agenda fue difícil acompañarlos en diferentes ocasiones, pero las pocas que nos vimos las llevo en la memoria. I will forever be grateful that you wanted to get a selfie together. This was the night we celebrated your birthday, and I remember clicking the wrong button several times on your camera until you showed me how to actually use it. Then we tried to switch but you told me your arm wasn’t long enough. Thankfully, we got a good picture, you look so beautiful. I’ll always remember you as being this beautiful bestie.

We had always talked about touring different coffee shops in the area, but we somehow ended up at Kramer’s every time.  I know the workers would hear us complain about the chai being different every visit. During our coffee dates you would always give me the best advice, I’m going to miss hearing it. Love you forever Alyssa.

To my bestie Alyssa- I didn’t know it when I took this picture, but this will always be my favorite memory with you. Before this night, we were friends, but I was secretly nervous around you. To me, you were the cool, older sister who I wanted to be friends with so bad, and this night in Cancun is when our friendship really grew. This is the night I made a new best friend. We ditched everyone and went to the Italian restaurant for coffee and pastries, where we talked about anything we could think of. I’m so lucky I had the privilege of knowing you .

This was one of the first birthdays I celebrated with you. I’ve always been camera shy and never know how to pose, but you’d always just hug me and smile. I’ll miss you forever.

We had so much fun celebrating you this night. You looked beautiful as always.
