Anthony Hinojosa

Anthony Hinojosa, affectionately known as “Grandpa Veggie,” has passed away, leaving behind a legacy of passion, love, and cherished memories. His dedication to health, vitamins, nutrition, and even colon cleansing was a defining aspect of his life, well-known to his family. Grandpa’s unique sense of humor, often humorously referencing his “chit list,” brought joy and laughter to those close to him. He was not just a great grandfather but an exceptional one, consistently showing his love in countless ways.

Among the most treasured memories are the motorcycle rides and truck trips with his grandkids, even for simple errands like a store run. Grandpa was always equipped with a camera, eager to capture every precious moment. He never missed a birthday party or event, his presence announced by the familiar scent of his vitamins and

walnuts. His loving smile and infectious happiness were constant sources of joy, and these memories will be held dear forever.

Grandpa had a fondness for watching westerns, particularly “The Good, the Bad and the Ugly,” and wrestling matches. When asked about his hobbies, his family and great-grandkids were his true passions. His motorcycle was one of his greatest joys until he could no longer ride. The day he looked at his motorcycle for the last time, knowing he could no longer ride, remains etched in the family’s memory. Perhaps a trip to Trader Joe’s could also be considered a hobby.

He worked diligently and retired from Sears, formerly

known as Roebuck’s, without ever missing a day. In his

later years, Grandpa enjoyed haircuts, pedicures, and the

attention from his nurses. He cherished the birthday

parties organized for him, where all his grand and great-

grandkids made him feel special. Despite his modest

demeanor, he knew he was always cherished as Grandpa

Veggie.

Grandpa Veggie’s life was a testament to love, dedication, and joy. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him, but his spirit and the memories he created will live on in the hearts of his family forever.
