Dearest Uncle Bernie, 
Words cannot begin to describe what an impact you have made not only on my life, but also to anyone that ever had the pleasure of knowing you. Thanks to your long friendship with my Dad, I have had the honor of knowing you my whole life. I will never forget your wonderful smile, your contagious sense of humor, your savvy with people, and most of all the love that you've shown my entire family forever. You were always such a presence, that's it hard to believe that you are not here any longer to gift us with a quick hug, a friendly word or shared remembrance. You are loved and missed more than you know. Your legacy lives on through your wife, your children, your grandchildren and the rest of us that are just a bit better people for having known you. I believe that it has taken me quite awhile to put my thoughts into the memory of Dad because I don't want to say goodbye. I believe that he is still here, in my heart and soul. I believe that he is on a mission at this time of which he is planning something for us that we do not know at this time. I want to believe that he will be back somehow, some way to be here especially for mom. I know that is not possible but I want to believe it in my heart.
There are truly no words that can describe Dad because he was absolutely a hero in his time here with us. He was gifted with his personality, looks, and gentleman honorable ways.  I looked up to him as my hero. People that had the pleasure of knowing him admired the noble way that he lived his life.  He was full of stories that he told about his life that were fun to hear over and over again. I loved it. 
My Dad was the apple of my eye and truly the most trusted person on earth. I looked up to him for his clear advice and He raised us up to be independent and loved us unconditionally. 
I cannot begin to understand why the Lord took my Dad away from me so soon. But here on earth we do not have to understand but we must believe that it was his time to be chosen. We must trust the Lord in every way. I do however believe that Dad is in a better most sacred place then we are here on earth.
I love you and miss you with all my heart.

I love you Dad!  You were a great influence in my life with your big smile and happy attitude towards life. You were always encouraging and fun to be around.  I am thankful that you're in heaven right now because of your faith and I can't wait to see you again and get a big hug from you.   I love you forever, your daughter

Dearest Father,

It is with great sorrow that we must say goodbye. You were with me when I entered this world on Father's Day - and I was with you when your Spirit was taken by the Almighty. There was a lot of time between and so many wonderful memories. 

I have recollections of a childhood home filled with love by attentive parents who could somehow be fairly strict, yet be hip enough to be the envy of all my friends! Many of those friends could only dream of going home to such a stable and warm household. 

Father, thank you for putting in so much time and effort to make sure your only son was raised right and in a way that fostered mutual respect. Paul said it for me - your instruction has indeed guided me throughout life. So many of life's lessons were taught to me on the sports field and what a blessing to have had you as my coach for several years. 

Yes, I feared you at times when I should have, but it was never because you were in any way abusive. You kept order, you taught lessons, you demanded certain protocol; yet you knew how to have fun and enjoy life like no one else. Also, you treated my mother with such love and admiration, for which I am so grateful. 

It is hard to believe you and mother were only teenagers when three babies threw your lives into chaos. You did not back down from the tremendous responsibility that, had you not assumed, would have caused an incalculable shift in the path of my life. Without the solid foundation you provided, my accomplishments and my enjoyment of life would not be nearly what they are. 

Of course, I am grateful you are finally free of pain and misery, and I am consoled by my belief that you have slipped into a magnificent spiritual body, but I sure miss your embrace, your love and so much more.

Grandpa, I want to thank you for being my example of a man who takes pride in his relationship with his wife, his family and all those around him and the joy it brings to have such pride accompanied with a sense of humor. Your lessons are still guiding me through life and the benifits they bring are increasingly rewarding. I have no doubt that they will continue. I will forever be grateful. I love you and will miss you till we see each other again.
