Brother Jesse and Huerta Family, I am so sorry for your loss. I am sharing my memory with you. 


I was separated from my husband in 2008 I went to my co workers wedding. I was in a dark place in my life, living reckless, and at the wedding, Cati and Jesse walked in and sat right next to me. She ministered to me and shared her marriage testimony with me and how the Lord transformed Jesse's life. That night I had other plans but God had his plan. She spoke life into me, broken messed up me, and gave me hope. The Lord put Cati there to intervene on my reckless plan. I knew Cati since I was a teenager from church and I had always admired her. I loved watching her sing during worship service. She was so graceful and beautiful. She radiated the love of God. I am so thankful for that night and she was so gentle and loving to broken me. I admired her as a woman of God as a teen. My husband and I reconciled and now he has been transformed by the power of the Lord Jesus Christ. We both are. We renewed our vows and Cati had a part in it. In love: Vivian (Ruelas) Acosta /sister Marcella's daughter.

Cari served God well in the Ranger kids ministry of the Royal Ranger Outpost 145 at Praise Temple Christian Fellowship in 2007. She was a joy and pleasure to have on staff.

To the Huerta family, 

My heart goes out to you and the entire family during this time of sorrow. I am deeply saddened by your loss and praying that God's presence surrounds you with peace, strength, and comfort.

Though words may feel inadequate, I hope you find peace in the promise of God’s Word:

“The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.” – Psalm 34:18

May you feel His nearness in this season of grief and draw strength from His eternal love. Please know that I’m lifting you up in prayer and am here for anything you might need.

You held our hands when we were small,
You caught us when we’d fall,

It was 1991 at the old theater on Arrow Blvd & Sierra Ave Lighthouse Fellowship Church where we met. I was 16yrs old a young teenage girl pregnant out of wedlock, scared, alone, ashamed, and lost. You introduced yourself and befriended me. Never once did you judge me. I admired your love for the Lord, and your boldness in the way that you served him. I asked you and Compa Jesse to be the godparents of my baby boy you accepted without hesitation. We soon became family. You shared a birthday with my husband (your nephew), you were different in every way nothing like the rest. You would tell me that you had to always ask God to let your love for him be greater than your love for Jesse. I would laugh because you would say ...I just love him SO...MUCH! You were a fine example of the woman that Proverbs 31 speaks of. You talked the talk, walked the walk, and lived the life of a God fearing woman...to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord. I will always remember you Coma Cati.

I remember being at ur house all the time whn I was little. I always liked whn u would make Puerto Rican rice. 
Rest easy Tia I know ur up there with my Dad. Love u!

When we met at the Dallas and Raiders game in Texas. So much fun. I’m really going to miss you Tia!

Going to miss our heart to heart conversations. Your warmth, love and kindness will live in our hearts forever. Until we meet again. RIP 🤍🪽

Here we all are at the Mexico restaurant enjoying dinner and margaritas it was a fun evening.  Catalina was such a sweet kind person she will be missed. God bless her and her family.

Her last trip to Florida. This woman was a warrior! She fought adversity with vengeance. She never complained about her ailments she always put them in the Lord's hands, trusting his will and time. I loved her mild manner heart. I don't remember her ever holding a grudge or speaking ill of anyone. She sought life with a glass half full. She was a testament to us all. I pray that all who claim to love her ponder on the words she spoke about the Lord Jesus she wanted all her family to be saved. So that they could be together in heaven with her. Seek God whilst he can be found. As Cati would say " God bless you all."

Our cruise on the Mardi Gras 11/2022.  She loved to travel.

My beautiful sister will be dearly missed. We had a special sister bond that I will cherish forever. She was a strong woman of Faith and I imagine her singing and dancing with the  Angels. Forever in our hearts,  Cati.
