Denton Arthurs was born December 10th, 1927 in Long Beach, CA and died January 7th, 2019 in Redlands, CA. He was the son of Lander Arthurs and Gertrude Stoops. He was raised in the Midwest until he was drafted into the Army in 1945. After serving initially in the Army, he enlisted in the Air Force. His postings ranged from Okinawa, Japan to Brize, Norton, England where he met his wife, Rita Keane. They were married in 1955 and moved to the United States in 1957. After a twenty-two-year career, Denton retired from the Air Force, after which he and his wife moved to Redlands, CA in 1967. They were active in their local church Sacred Heart. Denton worked for sixteen years for National Can in Fontana, CA and another thirty years managing Redlands Boulevard Car Wash. Preceding him in death are his wife and two sons, Robert and Eugene. He is survived by his daughter Beverly, son Sean, and granddaughter Melissa. His viewing will take place at the Valley View Chapel at 4:00 p.m. Thursday, January 24th at Montecito Memorial Park and Cemetery, 3520 East Washington Ave. Colton, CA. His funeral service will be on Friday, January 25th at 1 p.m. at Montecito Memorial Park and Cemetery in the Valley View Chapel as well.
