

Douglas Earl Porter, son of Floyd and Eunice Porter, came into this world on September 9, 1943 in Littlefield Texas. Doug was raised in San Bernardino and graduated from Pacific High School in 1961. Following high school, he joined the Millwright Apprenticeship Program and retired after 37 years in the profession that he loved. After retirement, he continued to help friends and relatives with minor household repairs and remodeling. He lived in Calimesa for the past 12 years.
His hobbies included spending many hours out on the golf course with his best friend Bill Robinson and his son Gerald. He also enjoyed watching golf, football, and NASCAR on TV, as well as playing cards with his friends.
Doug went to be with the Lord at the age of 73 on June 20, 2017. He was preceded in death by his parents Floyd and Eunice Porter, brother Gerald Ivan Porter, sister Alta Rae Bonney, and daughter Juli Kay Shaddox. He is survived by his wife of 19 years Ann Porter, his son and daughter-in-law Gerald and Yvonne Porter, and step-daughters Renee Coffee and Kathy Schley. He is also survived by 15 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.
He loved his wife and family dearly, was loved by many others, and will be missed by all.
Memorial Service will be held Thursday, August 3, 2017 1:00 pm Montecito Valley View Chapel, 3520 E. Washington Street, Colton, CA 92324 and Graveside to follow at Montecito Memorial Park, 3520 E. Washington Street, Colton, CA 92324.
