Edgardo Calantas Garcia, age 54, died in his hometown of Loma Linda on December 10, 2021 surrounded by his family. He was born in Aparri, Philippines and went to community college where he studied auto-mechanics. In 1985, at age 18, he migrated to the United States to a small town in California where he met and married his wife, Lani Beninsig Garcia. They were married for 29 years.
Edgardo worked as a lab technician in Orange County, CA and at Genesis Laboratory in the city of Riverside for over 20 years. In 2005, during his employment at Genesis, he and his wife opened up a caregiving business for the elderly, AnJeGo Home Care.
In 2016, he was transferred from the Genetics Lab to work at Loma Linda University Medical Center for 5 years. During this time, he completed his GED and received certificates from the Redlands Adult School.
Edgardo was a very resourceful man as he spent much time being hands-on around the house. He frequently enjoyed karaoke, dancing, and being the life of the party with his music and lights. He found joy in cooking the most amazing food for family and friends - he never left his food unseasoned. His favorite way to spend time was gathering with family and friends.
He is survived by his wife, Lani; their son, Alan Danrick Garcia and their daughters, Angelica Mae Rodelo and Abigail Garcia. He is also survived by his parents Laurie Calantas and Eduardo Garcia, siblings Bella Sulit, Eduardo Garcia Jr., and Brendalyn Nipales, his nieces and nephews, cousins, and many friends. He was preceded in death by his youngest sister Binsabell Garcia and his nephew Marvin Garcia.
