Edward Gultom

Edward is survived by his loving wife, Joice Gultom, Redlands CA; son Edwin Gultom and his wife Wanda Gultom, Yucaipa CA; daughter Stephanie Gultom, Beaumont CA; son Andrew Gultom and his wife Verita Gultom, Banning CA; and his six grandchildren, Isabelle, Isaiah, Alexandria, Paris, Mateo, and Adriel.

Edward was born on April 10, 1939 in Cirebon, Indonesia to PR Gultom and . He moved to Jakarta, Indonesia at an early age with his parents to attend elementary and high school before moving to Bandung, Indonesia in 1959 to attend college.

He graduated from ITB (Institute Technology Bandung) in 1967 with a degree in Pharmacy. He married Joice Manullang, a Registered Nurse from RSA (Bandung Adventist Hospital) in 1968. Edward began working for a pharmaceutical company, Bayer as a QC Manager for several years, a Pharmacy Technician at an Adventist hospital in Melbourne, Australia, a QC Director for an American Pharmaceutical company, Sterling, before moving permanently to the US in 1979 to work for Loma Linda University Medical Center and Longs Drugs. The couple welcomed 3 children into their home and Edward set about teaching them to always love and trust in God. His children remember him as a kind and faithful father who encouraged them to pursue their goals.

Edward was accomplished at singing and often perform at local church/community events. He was a generous and dedicated individual who loved Jesus Christ and who was passionate about helping those in need through his charitable foundation helping primarily the rural communities of Indonesia. He was an active and dedicated member of the Loma Linda Indonesian SDA church as well as contributed in various ways in support of several local churches, especially the Loma Linda University Church.

A viewing service is scheduled at 5PM on Wednesday, October 11 at Montecito Memorial Mortuary, Valley View Chapel, 3520 E. Washington Street, Colton CA. Memorial service will be held at 10AM on Thursday, October 12 at Loma Linda Indonesian SDA church located at 10827 California Street, Loma Linda, CA. The funeral service will proceed immediately following the memorial service at 2:30PM at Montecito Memorial Park. Stanley Tobing will officiate the ceremony.. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Edward’s life.
