Pastor Ho has always shown kindness to my family. His life was a blessing to others. May he rest in peace. I hope that prayers and the Lord comforts you at this time.

Our condolences to Mona and family.  We will always remember with gratefulness the kindness and spiritual help Pastor Ho has given to our our parents , Shan Shou and Susanna Wong,  and the entire family.   Thank you, Mona, for sharing your husband's valuable time with us.  May God bless and comfort you and your family at this difficult hour.

My prayers and sympathy to the Ho family.  I'm Michelle's classmate.  Unfortunately our parents generation numbers are getting fewer as the years pass.  From listening to my parents and seeing their friends over the years that generation really has something special that I have never seen before and doubt that I will ever see again.  There is a special bond among the students that went to their particular schools in China, Hong Kong, and Australia.  You didn't have to be in the same class.  You could be in any class but if you were there you were "family".  They were like brothers and sisters. You could see it at their "reunions". The hardships they all went through together and leaders like pastor Ho gave them a special bond and kept them together and close over decades.  Their sacrifices, love, stability, and support have greatly benefited our generation.  May we see him again.

Prayers and blessings to all of the Ho family members. So grateful for the Resurrection, and so sorry for the sadness until that Great Day.

In my early life, there was always a Ho Siu Wai because our fathers were colleagues in our Sam Yuk school in Canton, and we were living in the same two-story red-brick duplex even before his younger sister, Edith, and I were born.

I remember my mother complaining that she found Siu Wai jumping vigorously on her spring mattress!  He was near-sighted from early age, and there was talk that he asked student Kok Wai Ju, feasting on rice and dao see, if she was eating flies!

When Japan attacked Hong Kong, my mother took the children to my grandmother's farm beyond Lao Lung, 5 months ahead of everyone.  When the school reunited in Lao Lung, I did not recognize Edward at all because he had shot up in height but, most significantly, he sounded like a man, nothing like the boy I knew.

Because my first three grades were in English, my father later put me in Mrs. S.N. Yap's secondary English class with Edward, Shirley, and Samuel Young.  So we became "classmates." 

There was a Let's Sing songbook brought in by Mrs. Oilene Liu--Edward taught us all the tunes by playing his trumpet loud and clear evry night all over Gospel Hill, especially the haunting melody of  I'll Take You Home Again, Kathleen.

In Canton we were church choir members together; and he, Shirley, and I had solo parts in The Nazarene under director Mr. M. D. Lee, which we repeated under Edith Ho in Loma Linda decades later!

In the 60s when I took my youngest son, Steven, with me to Australia for brother John's medical graduation from Sydney U, my parents and I all stayed altogether with Edward and Mona in their new home.

When Edward became the pastor of the Loma Linda Chinese Church, he depended on me to transcribe many of Morris Venden's sermons on righteousness by faith for his ministry; and one Chinese book even had my name as co-author.

Edward had a significant collection of classical records.  When LA Phil was going to do Beethoven's Missa Solemnis one season, he pointed out to me the most beautiful part, that of the high violin solo which signified the Holy Spirit, and loaned me his double set of records for a season.

When my parents died, along with many others, it became known that Edward gave the best funeral homilies--personable, touching, and meaningful.  People kept saying:  Edward, when time comes we hope you can do our funerals!

As Edward became frail and ended up in the rest home, I was happy that he was always able to call me Ah Duen whenever I visited him!  One thing I know--In heaven, I still want to be known as Ah Duen to him.  Until then, Edward--may you rest in peace!

Pastor Ho's mother mentored our 9 y/o mother in boarding school, his father later baptized her.  Pr Ho and Mona mentored all of us in Sydney, and baptized many of us there as well.  As leader of the church, he worked with our father James O'Young to build the Sydney Chinese Church and the Loma Linda Chinese Church.  Our life histories intertwined for close to a century.  We had been blessed in knowing all of the Ho family and will dearly miss our Edward!  May the Lord bless and comfort you, Mona, Charlotte, Edith, Michelle, Nina and families.

Pastor Ho will be sorely missed.  He was our officiating minister at our wedding on Dec. 27, 1981 at the Victoria church, Loma Linda.  Besides, Pastor Ho performed the baptism for our older daughter (Bonnie).  During the many years when Pastor Ho was our local church pastor, he visited us at home and prayed for us at times of sorrow.  Pastor Ho is a man of God who takes his ministry seriously.
The love and care that Pastor Ho has ministered us will live in our hearts forever.

Pastor Edward Ho will be truly missed by those whom he faithfully ministered to and whose lives he had touched.  I am among the many that have had the privilege of knowing him.  He was an example/witness who "did justly, loved mercy, and walked humbly with his God" Micah 6:8

Pastor Ho and Mona had been very close to the Wong family and I will always remember their kindness and support to my late parents Stamford and Susanna Wong. Their friendship with our family also extends to us' 5 daughters. I was previledged to have attended their wedding in Sydney and was glad to meet them again in US. Our condolences to Mona and family. I knew Pastor Edward Ho since I was a child. In fact the Ho and Lo families were friends for generations. He was not only a friend, but also a teacher and mentor to me. As a child he introduced me to the thrills of bicycling, as a teenager, he was the first to meet me at the Sydney Dock when I arrived at Australia, and as an adult he was a source of constant encouragement and guidance. His ministry spanned three continents: Asia, Australia, and America. On the one hand we are saddened by the loss of a faithful servant of God, on the other we thank the Lord for a wonderful example of a selfless life of service. My thoughts and prayers are with Mona, Michelle, Nina, and the Ho family. Love from Ruth & Bruce.
