George Edwyn Blunt, 66 years old of Moreno Valley, California, passed away peacefully on Friday, April 11, 2014 at his home surrounded by his family friends.
George was born in Columbus, Ohio on December 25, 1947 to Richard Arlo and Frances Elizabeth Blunt. He is preceded in death by his grandparents; brother, Kenneth Lavern Blunt; son, George Edwyn Blunt II, grandson, Joseph Brannon, IV and loving wife, Juanita Jo Henry Blunt. He is survived by his daughter, Michaela Camile Blunt (Moreno Valley, California); sons, Jonathan Richard Blunt (Long Beach, California) and George Edwyn Blunt III (Moreno Valley, CA), step daughters, Quin Bell (Moreno Valley, California), Anetra Burkes (Moreno Valley,California) and Justina Burkes (Atlanta, Georgia), his sisters Alice Genevieve Blunt (Geneva, Switzerland), Francene Monique Blunt (Houston, Texas) and Susan Camille Blunt (Columbus, Ohio), brothers, Richard Spencer Blunt (Columbus, Ohio), Charles Douglas Blunt (Columbus, Ohio) and Keith Lamar Blunt and Sister-in-law Colita Blunt (Port Arthur, Texas; 7 grandchildren and several nephews. George was a Sergeant. in the US Marines, served 2 terms during the Vietnam War and receiving 2 Purple Hearts for Valor and a Navy Commendation Medal Combat "V" for Valor along with various other service medals.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, April 19, 2014, 1:30 - 2 pm, with Chapel Service at 2 pm, both at Montecito Valley View Chapel, 3520 E. Washington St., Colton, CA, with burial to follow.
The family will receive friends and family after the service at their home at 9770 via Montara, Moreno Valley, CA 92557
