We lost a great person, my father in law Humberto Pablos, after a long battle with Alzheimer’s. My wife Alicia used to tell me don’t kid around with her mom, because she didn’t like to be teased, well I told her I’d try.. Don Humberto told me don’t worry about it be yourself, I instantly liked him. Other than of course my wife, three people in my life I cherish, my brother in law Poncho, my sister in law Lupe and Humberto.. thank you sir for allowing me to be a part of your family...it was a privilege and a honor to have met you....rest in peace ...

My prayers go out to the Pablos family .  I know it so hard but I know my  Tio is in a better place now no more pain ! So proud of my Tia Delia my cousins the caretakers for taking such good care of him . My tio was an amazing man   He was like kind of person  he made you feel very special like if you were his own child !  Him and my dad Joaquin Lopez were very close. I used to love to sit with him and  he would tell me stories about my dad .   Even when my mother remarried he approved. He kept the family together . So many many beautiful memories I will treasure forever! Thanks to my Tia Delia and cousins for sharing this wonderful man with us ❤️Tio Lindo forever in our hearts ❤️

           Solo hermosos recuerdos, son los que tengo de mi tío Humberto siempre con su sonrisa y sabiduría. Un gran ser humano. Una abrazo a toda la familia.

Humberto Pablos

I have known Humberto all my life.  He was my mom’s young cousin but to me he was like a big brother.  He lived with us off  and on while I was growing up.  For  as long as I can remember he always attended family gatherings.  Family was  not just a duty it was the  part of his life that he loved most.  His faith in God was also an important part of  his life.
I must have been about three years old but I will never forget how early one morning he  got me out of bed to go to our garage to see our dog’s newborn puppies.  He just wanted to share that excitement. 
He was always there to help my mom or dad and my parents were always there for him.  Humberto asked my dad and mom to drive to Obregon, Mexico to ask for 
Delia’s had in marriage.  We then drove back to California with Delia, her mom and Humberto’s mom to prepare for the wedding. In the meantime, Humberto had me hide the wedding rings in the back of my desk drawer.  I was only eleven years old but he trusted me to keep our secret.
Later when my mom became ill, Humberto was there to help me move her things out of the house. I will truly miss his unfailing support  throughout the years.
Humberto was the kindest, gentlest soul I have ever known.

My tio for me was this: strapping and brawny arms swooping me into that cheek to cheek hug. Childhood birthdays in Santa Ana. Boisterous and contagious full-blown belly laughs. Calling me mija. Unconditional love. True joy. My heart swells in the honor of being your niece. Te adoro tío hermoso. ❤

Although I didn’t have the pleasure of meeting Grandpa in his prime, I was blessed to have a few of those strong handshakes as Vicky and I started dating. His profound legacy will continue to live on through the many loving stories from his family. My prayers for peace, mercy, grace, love and guidance are with all that knew and love him!
